Privacy Policy
Last updated September 10, 2026
This policy explains what personal information this website collects about you, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to booking or enquiring through it.
This website is operated by Big Sky Barnhouse, the property management business named in the contact section at the end of this policy. That business decides what information is collected here and why, and is responsible for it. It uses CraftedStays as its website and booking platform, and CraftedStays handles that information only on its instructions.
Information collected about you
Information you give us. When you make a booking, send an enquiry, join a mailing list, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address where relevant, the dates and property you are interested in, the number of guests, and anything you write to us.
Payment information. Card details are entered into and handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the last four digits and card type. We do not store your full card number.
Information collected automatically. When you visit, we collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the properties you look at, how you arrived at the site including any advertising or referral source, and the dates and searches you enter. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies, described below.
Information from your property management system. If you have booked with us before, our booking system may hold your reservation history and link it to a new enquiry.
Why we use it
- To take and manage your booking, take payment, and communicate with you about your stay.
- To answer enquiries and provide customer service.
- To send marketing emails about availability and offers, where you have asked to receive them or where the law otherwise allows it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To remind you about a booking you started but did not finish, where you gave us your email address during that booking and tracking was permitted.
- To measure how the site is used, which pages and properties people look at, and whether advertising works, so the site can be improved.
- To show you advertising on other websites and services, and to measure it, where you have allowed advertising cookies.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files stored on your device. This site uses them in three groups.
Essential. Needed for the site to work at all: keeping your booking in progress, security, and remembering your privacy choices. These are always on and cannot be switched off.
Analytics. Used to count visits and understand how the site is used. Depending on how this site is configured, this may include Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and a first-party measurement service provided by CraftedStays that records the pages and properties you view and the steps of a booking.
Marketing. Used to show and measure advertising. Depending on how this site is configured, this may include the Meta (Facebook) pixel and Google Ads conversion measurement.
Where a consent banner is shown, analytics and marketing cookies are switched off until you allow them. Until then, Google's tools run in a restricted mode that sends measurement signals without cookies or identifiers. You can change your decision at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of this site.
This site honors the Global Privacy Control browser signal. If your browser or an extension sends that signal, analytics and advertising are switched off automatically, in every region, without you having to do anything.
Who your information is shared with
We share information only with the following kinds of recipients, and only for the purposes above.
- CraftedStays, which provides and operates this website and booking platform on our behalf, and stores the information described here.
- Our property management system and channel partners, which hold reservations and availability.
- Payment processors, which handle your card payment.
- Email and marketing tools that we have connected, which may include Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Campaign Monitor, StayFi, or GoHighLevel, used to send the messages you have signed up for.
- Lasoh, a marketing analytics and messaging partner, where this site has that connection enabled. It receives the site activity described above together with your email address and phone number if you have given them, and uses it to help us understand our guests and send the messages you have signed up for.
- Analytics and advertising providers, which may include Google and Meta, as described in the cookies section.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where we are required by law to disclose information.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Under some United States state privacy laws, allowing advertising and analytics providers to collect activity on this site for advertising purposes counts as "selling" or "sharing" personal information, even when no money changes hands. If this site runs advertising cookies, treat it as sharing of that kind. You can stop it at any time using "Your Privacy Choices" in the footer, or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal, and we will honor that for at least twelve months.
How long we keep it
Records of your booking, payment and correspondence are kept for as long as we need them to provide the service and to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations, which is normally seven years after your stay.
Website activity collected for measurement is kept for fourteen months and then deleted automatically.
The record of your cookie decision, and the identifiers used for measurement, are kept in your browser for twelve months. After that you will be asked again.
If you ask us to stop using your information for advertising, that takes effect going forward. It is not the same as asking us to delete what we already hold, which you can also do separately.
Your choices and rights
You can change your cookie choices at any time through "Your Privacy Choices" in the footer of this site.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any of them.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, stop selling or sharing it for advertising, and withdraw a consent you previously gave.
We will not treat you differently, refuse service, or change our prices because you exercised any of these rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details at the end of this policy. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area and you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Where your information is held
Your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you are outside the United States, this means your information is transferred there, and we and our providers rely on the safeguards permitted by the law of your country for that transfer.
Children
This site is not intended for children under sixteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always the one published here.
